La Stella di Pila and the 1026th Saint Orso Fair

A historic bond between the city and its mountain

For over a thousand years, the Fiera di Sant’Orso has represented the heart of Aosta Valley’s identity.

Born as a vital gathering for locals descending from the slopes to trade the fruits of their winter labor, every year the fair brings mountain craftsmanship and culture to the heart of Aosta.

While for over a millennium the Saint-Ours fair has brought the soul of the mountains into the city, today the Stella di Pila invites you to journey back to the peaks to discover the landscapes that inspire our artisans. Thanks to the new lift system, Aosta and the high altitudes are now linked by a direct thread: an opportunity to complete the path of tradition and rediscover the summits where art is born.

The symbol of the Fair at Stella di Pila

The dialogue between craftsmanship and the territory reaches its peak at 2,723 meters. The symbolic artwork of the 2026 Fair, created by sculptor Peter Trojer, will be exhibited at the Stella di Pila: a unique opportunity to admire it in the silence of the peaks, reachable in just 30 minutes by cable car from Aosta.
